MCJ Action with Adam McKay on April 6

MCJ Action with Adam McKay

Adam McKay -- Academy Award-winning filmmaker and writer, producer, and director of the hit film Don't Look Up -- joined us for a fireside chat and climate action session.

We had an amazing conversation with Adam about climate storytelling, climate action, and the urgency of the climate emergency.

We then had a live climate action session with Adam during which he called Senator Feinstein’s office with a personalized climate ask, and the rest of us called our Senators alongside Adam.

During the event, Adam spontaneously decided to start a campaign: he pledged to make a climate action phone call every day for the next 30 days. He followed up immediately on Twitter with a commitment and an invitation to join him “in calling a Senator or Representative, news outlet or corporation every day for 30 straight days”.

About MCJ Action

MCJ Action is a new concept from MCJ Collective in partnership with Climate Changemakers.

Each month, MCJ Action invites a luminary guest to join for a 40 minute virtual fireside chat about climate change followed by a facilitated 20 minute climate action session.

Audience members will have opportunities to ask questions via the moderator and will participate with the luminary during the action portion.

MCJ Collective and Climate Changemakers are excited to debut this format in 2022 as an example of participatory media that organizes, informs, and inspires collective climate action — all in real time.
